Our Story
A Simple Question, A Wild Idea
Back in 2015, after a round of 18 at Atlantic City Country Club, David Rayfield pondered the question: “Lots of charity golf events do 90 holes in carts, but could we walk 90 holes on the longest day of the year?” Nick Rosetti said, “I’m in!”. An epic tradition was born. The first effort – 90 holes – was completed in 14 hours, 55 minutes led by David Rayfield and Nick Rosetti.
The Ritual Becomes a Movement
With each passing year, the duo raised the bar – reaching 108 holes, then 126 in 2024. Their gear and strategy evolved as well with glow balls, headlamps, hydration packs, and strict pacing. From midnight tee times to space-junk sightings, their annual journey is now a well-oiled, madness-fueled machine of endurance and purpose. But adding a few holes each year has no ending. In 2025, the goal was to set the bar even higher, with the intentions of playing for 24 hour straight, walking ALL the holes. The new goal of playing for 24 hours straight also gave birth to turning this into an annual charity event. The ultimate end game of their “Marathon Golf Outing” is do something that they love, while also fundraising for those within the community that may need it. In 2025, the duo decided to raise funds for the Atlantic County Food Bank and through the generosity of many donors, last year’s event raised $8,885.
New Year, New Charity, New Goal
For the 2026 Marathon, we are proud to partner with the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia. Nick has supported this organization for the past 10 years and has seen firsthand the difference it makes for families in need. The Ronald McDonald House provides lodging, meals, and support services to families whose children are undergoing major medical procedures or treatment.
